Sand Dunes

Grandpa Reed just got an old school jeepster that he is very excited about and asked all the fam if we wanted to go to the sand dunes to take it out. We decided to go and asked Granny B. if she would be willing to let us take the Renaissance (for those of you that don't know....that's Grandpa B.'s motor home). She was kind enough to let us take it and boy was it a hit with Corb's. He seriously thought it was the coolest thing in the whole world! It was so much fun to watch him be so excited about it.

Everyone was able to come and we all had a great time. Somehow I was able to avoid DEATH on the back of a 4 wheeler with Benita. She asked me if I would teach her how to drive it and I agreed to do so not knowing that I would be in for quite a ride. Fortunately, when it was all said and done we managed to make it back safely to camp somehow (WHEW!!).

Scooter had a great time riding around on his little 4 wheeler. All the other little kids there had similar little motorcycles and they all had a great time playing on them with him. He wasn't, however, so fond of the jeepster. Dad took him on a ride out on the sand dunes and I think that he was sure he was going to die. Needless to say....there was only ONE ride! Thank goodness....the rest of the guys (including Dad) really enjoyed driving it around.

The last night we had the pleasure of having Jessica and "Narnauld" stay in the motor home with us and we were able to experience Jess having a major claustrophobic meltdown on the top bunk. Beforehand, she assured us that she was going to be fine on the top bunk, but within an hour or so of being up there I could suddenly hear her ripping here clothes off and flailing around. When asked if she was okay her reply was "THE AIR IS HOT!!!" Arnauld responded by saying "I don't think it has anything to do with the temperature!" We invited her to come down and lay on the big bed with us on the lower level for the remainder of the night and things seemed to go much better. Let's just say....we all had a pretty good laugh over that one the next morning.

Thanks fam for a great weekend at the sand dunes!

Cancun

We just got back from a very relaxing 9 days in Cancun, Mexico. It was so awesome to just be there relaxing in the HOT HOT sun. I am 12 weeks pregnant and feeling a bit fat (to say the least...) especially around all those skinny chicks in their bikini's. The morning sickness from this pregnancy has been little much and the sweet (NOT) smells of Mexico got to me a bit, but despite all that we managed to have a great time. Most of our time was spent just laying by the pool/ocean and watching all the crazy people here for spring break. People watching is such a riot...especially when they are hammered! Fortunately the Hilton is closed to guests only so we were pretty isolated from the rest of the crazy's out there.

My cousin Melissa and her friend Michelle where also here during the same time so we decided to take them to Chichen Itza one of the days on the lovely bus tour. We had a great time and lots of laughs. Melissa was chased by the crazy little Miyan men with very LARGE wooden statues of certain male parts proclaiming that they were "true Miyan size". It was hilarious to see her run. Also, the little children weren't going to take "No" for an answer when it came to buying trinkets and they certainly got the best of Michelle.

It was very sad for me to see how they had let the locals almost overtaken the ruins inside Chichen Itza. Their chatter and constant hounding (not to mention their messes) really changes the experience for the tourists....but it's Mexico...what do you expect?

We were fortunate to have wonderful parents who were willing to take care of Scoots while we were gone and he had a blast being spoilled to death by them the entire time. We were able to Skype with him every night from the local convenient store which made being away from him a little easier for all of us. Thanks to Jama Lori and Jama and Jampa Reed for taking such good care of him while we were gone!

Black Island Forrest Pumpkin Patch

Today I took Corbin to the cutest pumpkin patch I have ever seen. This place was amazing. I couldn't believe how well it was put together and how much fun we had there. We first started out by going down animal alley to look at all the baby animals. Corb's was loving it...especially feeding the little goats. He just giggled and giggled when they started licking his little hand. It was so much fun to watch. We then went over to the slides to test them out a bit. Corbin even got brave and went down the GIANT slide....with a little help from Mom. There were so many fun things to do and see there. I think that his favorite parts were riding the adorable little pig and cow train and of course getting to ride behind the big tractor on our way to the pumpkin patch to pick our pumpkins. We both really loved this place. The weather was beautiful, the food was great, there were so many fun things to explore and I had the cutest little date in town. I couldn't have asked for a better day!!!

Halloween at the Dinosaur Park

Tonight we went the the Ogden Eccles Dino Park for their annual trick or treat. I must say it practically took at act of God to get Corbin there in his costume, but once he saw all the other kids in their costumes he figured it would be okay. We met the Hassell's there first and then met up with Granny Reed, Brett, Lisa and Brycen. Corbin was a finalist in the costume contest, however, he was not impressed in the slightest. He had tons of fun playing with Brycen....as usual. We all had a really good time.

First Trip to the Zoo

I had been feeling like a bad mom for not taking Corbin to the zoo yet, so you can imagine how happy I was to hear that Granny Reed, aunt Jess, Brett and Lisa were taking him and Brycen to see the animals today. I was even happier when I got to work to find out that it was slow enough for me to go down and meet them there and enjoy the experience. To top it all off the fall leaves were absolutely AMAZING! I had the most enjoyable ride there in my car alone with the sunroof open and the radio blaring. I even heard the song "killing me softly" by the Fuji's that reminded me of a funny story between Mindy and I that we have ultimately determined it was one of those "had to be there moments," but I sure got a good laugh out of it.

Anyhow, the zoo was so much fun. We got to see lots of baby animals including the new baby elephant "Zuri", the baby giraffe, and several different types of baby monkeys. Corbin was really having a good time looking around at all the animals, eating ice cream, churro's, and popcorn, and as usual running around like a wild man. He especially enjoyed riding on the train. Grandma was so nice and bought Corbin and Brycen these obnoxious roaring tigers that they had a blast running around with. Overall, it was a really good time and I am SOOOOO glad that I got to go and be a part of it. Thanks Granny!

Bonneville Speedway...Speed Week

So Layne told me that if I was going to live in Utah....I had to at least experience the Bonneville Salt Flats at least once. Reluctantly I agreed to go and to my surprise...I had a lot of fun. I had no idea how beautiful it was out there. Corbin and Brycen had a great time together watching the races, running around on the salt, watching the little airplanes fly in and out, and hangin' out with "Papa". I know Layne had a good time hanging out with all "the boys" and he was greatful that I was willing to go and share one of his passions with him.

Me and CeCe!

This morning we had Cierra over for a little play time. It was so much fun to have her here and to watch her and Corbin play. It is so amazing for me to watch the little differences between the two of them. CeCe is so sweet and soft spoken and generally well behaved and Corbin is 100% the rough and tough boy...climbing on everything and being as wild as possible. Cierra is so sweet and so patient with him. Corbin climbed up on the chair with some Goldfish Cracker and CeCe climbed right up there with him. It was so cute....I had to take a picture. You can tell they really love each other.
