Lake Powell

We just got back from our trip to Lake Powell. We bought a houseboat earlier this year and this was our second trip to the Lake this summer. Corb's had a great time. He really loved playing in the water. We had an awesome trip with our friends: Kyle, Jenilyn, J.P., Braxton, Natalie, Hailey, Riki and Cody. Scooter especially loved playing with Kyle, Braxton and Hailey.



We did lots of fun things while we were there. Grandpa and Grandma Green were kind enough to let us borrow their 1976 Fiberform boat at the last minute. We all tried to come up with a good name for it and I think that we settled on the "Orange Crush." We all had a great time in the "O.C." We were able to get everyone that was interested up on a wakeboard and had lots of good laughs in the process. We also were able to scare the pants off of Kyle on the tube. I am not sure that he is going to trust Layne behind the wheel of a boat for some time ;-). The O.C. also carried us all on a little sightseeing adventure over to Mookie Canyon where we all got out and had a great time swimming and having lunch on the beach.

Corb's also had his first experience at skinny dippin'. He was quite an exhibitionist, but I don't think anyone seemed to mind. He has the cutest little bum...it's hard not to love it. He also took his new little 4-wheeler and was cruzin' around on the sand and rock like he was a little pro.

Kyle, Hailey, Riki, Cody, Natalie, and Braxton all went out lizard hunting while we were there and brought back the biggest lizard that I have ever seen at Lake Powell. Cody and a few of the others made a very nice home for "Freddie" and he spent several nights with us on the the houseboat until the kids felt bad for the fat little thing and decided to set him free.

Overall, we had a very fun trip and we are so grateful that we had such good friend to share our trip with us and we look forward to returning to Lake Powell next year.

Corbin's One Year Old Dr.'s Appointment

Today we went for Corbin's One year well child vistit although there is not much well with him today. He came down with pink eye yesterday for his birthday and today we discovered that he also has his first ear infection. No wonder he hasn't been feeling so hot! He has't been eating or sleeping well for days so he has lost about 2 pounds, however, he still was weighing in today at 26.5 lbs and 32 inches tall which correlates to the 91% and 99% for his age respectively. I think that we are going to have a football player on our hands! We are starting antibiotics today and hopefully we will be feeling better in the next couple of days. Hang in there Scooter!

Corbin's First Birthday

Holy Cow!!! My baby turned 1 today and what a year it has been. I can't even believe how he has grown. As I reflect back over the last year, I realize just how blessed Layne and I are to have such a beautiful, lively and happy little "Scooter".

Today we had quite a celebration. We had all of our family and good friends over for dinner and a whole lot of fun! We rented a Sponge Bob bounce house for all the kids to play in and I think that they all had a blast. Corbin got lots of nice new gifts from everyone that he is going to love playing with. Most of them are quite the noise makers....lucky for mom and dad :-) He loved playing trucks in his new sand and water table with dad today.

Corbin especially liked eating his very own Lightning McQueen cake. He was absolutely covered in blue and red frosting and afterwards was going around to give everyone a great big frosting filled hug....how nice of him to share!


It has been a great day and a wonderful year. I couldn't imagine life without our little monkey. Being a mom has been the greatest joy. I look forward watching him grow and for many more great times to come.
